Este viernes 14 de febrero se dio a conocer que Diego Santoy ganó un amparo con el que reabrirán el caso por el que recibió una condena de 138 años de cárcel, que después fue reducida a 71 años por buen comportamiento. El doble homicidio fue un 2 de marzo de 2006 en la casa de Erika ubicada en la calle Monte Casino de la colonia Cumbres. De acuerdo con las declaraciones del juicio, los niños fueron asesinados en su casa después que Diego la visitó para intentar dialogar para reanudar su relación. Ambos se habían conocido en la fiesta de 15 años de una amiga mutua, mientras Diego estudiaba Ingeniería y había incursionado en la conducción televisiva. La historia de amor entre los dos era aceptada por las familias e incluso Diego pasaba festividades como Año nuevo con los Coss.
