While setting up a recent PC I noticed that a Hard Drive Controller was running very hot. The Adaptec Hard drive controller only has a Heat Sink, but this wasn't enough to keep it down to a temperature I was happy with. Having looked around online for a way to keep the Hard drive controller cool, the fan options available were few and far between. The PCI slot fans available online were flimsy and had poor reviews. So in true Handyman Savage style, lets create our own. ◉No parts were bought (other than the mini Noctua fan) which can be purchased here: https://amzn.to/3DBpues The rest of the parts just happened to be lying around in the garage and helped figure out a simple solution. Once in-place, the fan is very secure (just like a PCI / PCIE Slot card would be when fixed in place with a Slot bracket) and provides ample cooling and reaches are objective to keep that Hard drive controller nice and cool.
