The Calling opened for the group, Train at the M Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV on May 3, 2025. And they held their own, I hadn't heard much from this group since "Wherever You Will Go" was released in 2001. And this song was one of my favorites. According to the lead singer, Alex Band, the song was written when he was only 15, with The Calling's co-founder, Aaron Kamin. Band later released his debut full-length album, "We've All Been There," in 2010 with "Tonight" as its lead single. It would later be used as the theme song for the 2010 World Cup. In 2013, Alex Band, was kidnapped, robbed, beaten up and left for dead but he survived and managed to continue with his career. And I'm glad he did. The show at the M Resort was great! The band was energized and excited be on the same bill as one of their influences, Train. "Wherever You Will Go" was an international hit and became the #1 song on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart for the year, 2001. It is the second-longest-running number one in the chart's history. Outside the United States, the song topped the music charts of Italy, New Zealand, and Poland, reached number three in the United Kingdom, peaked at number five in Australia, and became a top-10 hit in several European countries.
